Parent Support

Beyond the programming designed for each young adult at STRīV, we recognize the importance of parent involvement and support.

The parent-child relationship shifts as children move into young adulthood. At this stage, we often refer to parents as “investors” in their adult-child’s life. This opens a potentially new way of thinking about the relationship for the student at STRīV, recognizing the vital role parents play in their growth and development moving forward.

We want parents to be in the loop. It is important to us that parents are regularly updated on their young adult’s progress at STRīV, and they will have regular communication with the primary therapist and/or the parent coordinator. We appreciate the critical element parents play in this process, and value transparency and parental input as we develop plans and strategies to help meet the established goals.

Sometimes, parents need to be supported along the way as well. STRīV can help provide coaching, specific guidance, or simply a listening ear for the parents as we travel this road together.
