Why Families and Students Choose STRiV Forward
Safe Space for Growth: We understand how challenging it can be to transition into adulthood. Our program offers a supportive environment where students can learn from failure and try again without the pressure to be perfect, fostering resilience and confidence.
Personalized Support: Each student receives tailored mental health care designed to promote community, growth, and accountability. Our small, boutique setting ensures individualized attention with a 1:4 mentor-to-student ratio, enabling meaningful connections and personalized guidance.
Community, Not Just Treatment: Students are integrated into a supportive community rather than treated as just participants in a treatment program. We respect their independence through a freedom-first approach that includes no strict curfews and permission to use technology.
Freedom to Pursue Passions: We encourage students to engage in hobbies and activities they love. Our flexible environment promotes self-discovery and confidence, helping students develop independence through meaningful experiences.
Long-Term Relationships: Our dedicated staff has an exceptionally low turnover rate, allowing mentors to build lasting, trust-based relationships with students. This stability supports ongoing growth and personalized mentoring.
Structured Opportunities for Reflection and Growth: Within our safe, supportive environment, students are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, learn from them, and grow at their own pace. The combination of peer and professional support creates a nurturing space.
Common Struggles Young Adults & Students Face in Their Everyday Lives
Conditions such as social anxiety, ADHD, and autism can make it difficult to connect with peers. Struggles with executive functioning can make it difficult to study or work. These compounding issues can greatly impact a young adult’s mental health, sometimes leading to serious issues such as substance use, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts.

Helping Young Adults & Students Gain Independence
Although we provide professional support and guidance, it’s ultimately up to the student to achieve their goals. Over time, this builds the confidence and self-esteem needed to meet the independent milestones of a healthy, successful adult life.

FAQs
Life skills programs for young adults are specialized programs that provide structured therapeutic support to emerging adults. The goal of these programs is to teach essential life skills, such as financial management, emotional regulation, and social skills, in a real-world setting. This helps develop real-world experiences that are needed for lasting success and confidence in adulthood.
The main difference between STRiV Forward and an inpatient or residential treatment center is the intensity of the services that are provided and what is treated.
STRiV Forward does not provide inpatient care, nor do we treat serious conditions that require 24/7 medical oversight, such as active substance abuse, as we do not have the capabilities to provide detoxification and other intensive medical intervention services.
Instead, we offer a transitional living experience where students with mild to moderate mental health challenges can get support, while focusing on vocational training, life skills development, and other specialized coaching needed for independence.
Yes, our therapeutic independent living program can help young adults build the skills and confidence needed to transition into the real world. Students learn several essential life skills and get support in vocational and/or academic pursuits.
The length of stay for each student at STRiV will vary based on their individual needs. Typically, students remain in our program for 12 months, but the average stay lasts between 10 and 14 months.
