A Real-World Approach to OCD Treatment
Unlike the more restrictive residential treatment centers or intensive outpatient programs that force you away from the comfort of your daily routine, STRiV Forward integrates your care into apartment living. It means getting the benefits of access to a care team for support while still having the freedom to go to school and build a social life.

Medication and Coordinated Care
STRiV collaborates with outside healthcare providers, primary care professionals, and clinicians to support each student’s overall care when needed. We know how important it is to receive seamless care that feels balanced around what your young adult is already familiar with if they’re already working with another mental health professional on their treatment.

FAQs
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) combined with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is generally considered the most effective approach for treating and lessening the symptoms of OCD.
Not always. Some students may benefit from medication to help them manage symptoms, but it’s rarely required. The usefulness of medication varies from person to person and often depends on other existing mental health conditions and potential side effects from taking them. Regardless, we always work with you to find the best path forward.
It’s neither: STRiV Forward is a transitional living program. Adolescents live in a fully furnished apartment where they’ll receive clinical support while enjoying the freedom to engage in their daily lives.
Absolutely; OCD is 100% a manageable mental health condition with the right practices. Using therapies like ERP and CBT can drastically lower the impact of OCD on your life and help you regain control over your routines.
Yes. We often encourage your family or a loved one to have a hand in OCD treatment. Our team offers parent support resources and communication channels. The intention is to help these families build healthy boundaries and teach everyone how obsessive thoughts and other symptoms of OCD can affect an adolescent’s independence.
We’re here to help students with moderate to significant OCD challenges, provided they are stable enough to live semi-independently in an apartment setting. It is often not the right fit for those needing 24/7 clinical care to manage their OCD symptoms.
We don’t differentiate clinical therapy from real-world practice: we combine them. The adolescents at STRiV Forward are learning to manage their obsessive compulsive disorder while actively living their lives, giving them the confidence they need to feel in complete control — and have the right tools to take care of themselves even when they don’t.
